his sponsorships had long ago crossed the line of being acceptable

In what way? Is he being sponsored by Raytheon or something?

It hurts me to imagine the alternate timeline where youtubers say "I can continue making high quality videos like this thanks to this videos sponsor, Rai... Theon. Do you want some oil that is currently owned by some random guy in some random middle eastern country? Do you want to bomb children in the aforementioned middle eastern country? etcetera, etcetera..."

Stopped going after I was shouted down for saying that maybe we shouldn't start uncritically supporting Rogan just because he endorsed Bernie. His history of transphobia at the time made him a useful idiot at best and not someone to welcome with open arms into the leftist project. But nope, we need to make him feel welcome otherwise he might just gasp leave. I feel especially vindicated ever since he's gone off the deep end with COVID-19 and still strongly believe that if you cannot make the effort to address your previous shitty behavior before you moved to the left, that you'll never be a leftist a la Azov Nothing or :funny-clown-hammer:.

Everyone I've known in real life who primarily gets their political opinion from YouTube or twitch is very easily swayed. They'll change their political identifier month to month based on the newest video or whoever got owned in a debate stream the previous night. I don't get it.

Because they don't have much political conviction to begin with or much of an opinion on their own. It's like people who let their family, radio show, or tv network dictate their political viewpoints.

But reading takes longer so at least you'll stick with a label for a little while.

honestly with the lengths this youtube tripe is getting up to and streamers and such im certain consuming that is as much or more of a timesink. less intellectually difficult tho.

and to jump onto my own strongly held opinion, i think 99% of video content is less efficient than simply reading. i'm not a fast reader, its a function of medium---videos gotta juggle audio, visuals and entertainment, a book very often doesn't even need to pretend to entertain. the only thing that might be faster than reading is audiobooks but i have very little experience with those

Luckily I haven't seen much of that sentiment on this site. Such a dumb excuse, though. Like you can listen to audio books or even podcasts if reading is that hard for you.

We should describe Breadtube exclusively as an "entertainment market".

Fun fact: Reddit's algorithm rates r/benshapiro as "similar to" r/breadtube.

That doesn't really mean much, as far as Reddit's algorithm is concerned, any subreddit which discusses politics from any angle is essentially identical. It's not a very good algorithm

Hey r/breadtube mods, there's currently a user in this thread threatening to trigger combat vets PTSD deliberately, could we possibly look into that guy? Thanks.

    Yes, And?

Do you do this with rape survivors too? Damn dude, really fucking progressive of you.

:jesus-christ: Comparing rape survivors to baby murderers serving imperialism, name a more :reddit-logo: moment. My god that site is a abhorrent cesspool.

It was kind of okay on foreign policy some time ago, but the rise of Vaush and the 2020 election really shifted it into becoming more liberal.

    -Some absolute dweeb

Yeah, that's honestly shitty, no matter who the target is. Taken care of, I believe.

-the response of the even bigger dweeb of a mod

Pretty much all you need to know about that sub
