It's been a while since I read anything about it so I don't have any links off the top of my head, but if you look at all the klan's ranks and stuff it's all just stupid - empires, realms, dominions, imperial wizards, grand exchequers, grand scribes, hydras, grand dragons, grand giants, goblins, furies, etc & so forth. In the 1800s whitey could sit back and feel secure that those silly boys putting on white sheets and riding around like hooligans calling each other goblins were just goofballs. Meanwhile the black people you never spoke to on the outskirts of your shitty little town would be terrorized and persecuted and the whites who weren't involved in the KKK never had to see shit. I looked up that quote and no one can actually find the source. People like Eugene Debbs have said similar things and I think some black revolutionaries in the US have repeated similar sentiments. I think Sinclair said some similar stuff too.
