I'm a sucker for Egyptian mythology and not only does it do it well it manages to be somehow apolitical.
Given the Marvel franchise takes on politics this is a good thing.

He actually does steal an artifact from a British museum if I remember right. Pretty sure he brings it to Egypt too
I think it had some cool stuff that would be better if it weren't ran by Disney. There was about 1/3 of a season worth of content stretched over the whole thing. They also did that thing where the bad guy achieved a peaceful commune that provides for everyone but only because it's a cult and they get to kill people.
However out of all the Disney+ shows this one felt least like a commercial for other Marvel movies. I never watched the Falcon one or the Hawkeye one.
The falcon one is probably the most liberal piece of media I have ever seen in my life, unironically. Its worth the watch if you feel like enraging yourself

I really liked the mystery in the beginning, and the reveal at the end, but the middle episodes were all kind of a blur to me.
Daredevil was the only capeshit I'd call really good, but this one had its moments too.
Beyond the first season, though? I liked Daredevil at first but when the started introducing the weird orientalist stuff I lost interest.
The ninjas were a low point, but the Punisher court room drama in season two was still cool, and season three was probably the best.
But yeah the ninja stuff really wasn't great.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the Punisher stuff. I guess I did like season 2 after all. What happened in season 3 again? Was that before or after the whole "Defenders" debacle? I think that was what truly put the nail in the coffin for me.
I also enjoyed The Punisher in spite of all the hoorah military stuff. Jessica Jones season 1, too, and the first half of Luke Cage before the entirely forgettable big bad is revealed. For some reason all of the Netflix Marvel shows fell apart really quickly. I guess they just rushed to get more content out while the cape trend was still hot.
I skipped Defenders because I never watched the other shows, and my friends told me it was bad. Didn't take too long to catch up with Daredevil season 3 though.
It's another Fisk season, with a version of Bullseye that isn't terrible. I really really like how the show did Kingpin.

I mean it's "Nazis infiltrated" and not "Nazis were welcomed in with backpats, whiskey and cigars" so it still makes it sound more antagonistic than it really was
I was whelmed. I really like Moon Knight as a character, and the show was... fine. not bad. The CGI was a little wonky imo.
it was political in that it had to do with 'judgment' for what you've done, and what you might do in the future. balances of free will and all that.

I really hate the 'shoehorn a sequel into the after-credits scene' trope. in this case, it's kinda doofy since it's very important to the character
they've remade spiderman so many times it's America's 47 Ronin at this point
Tom Holland spiderman is the cleverest part of the marvel thing. There is an Uncle Ben, but this time his name is Tony Stark. Movie 1 is setup, Movie 2 is the grieving teenager, Movie 3 is a licensing nightmare.
Yeah, it's very much Marvel Mythology ™ in that they're not interested in doing much with it aside from being like "Of course it's real"
A big part of the Moon Knight comics is whether or not Marc is actually the avatar of an ancient Egyptian god or a deeply unwell man attempting to atone for his life as a mercenary for hire

Moon Knight is a short series on Disney+, not in theaters. I think it’s like 6 or 8 episodes.
I want to like it better than I do. The last couple Marvel projects you can tell had very troubled productions because of Covid. The stuff in Moon Knight I liked, I REALLY liked, but overall I thought it was mid. Plenty of comic book stuff in the last couple years I would rank over it

Jar Jar Abrahms liked Star Wars as a kid but has absolutely no understanding of why Star Wars became a cultural touchstone, what kind of story it was telling, what kind of themes it tried to explore, or really anything else. He just thought it looked cool in an entirely superficial, aesthetic way.
So when he got the chance to make a Star Wars movie he re-made A New Hope beat for beat, but without any depth and without doing anything new. It was a re-make in all but name, but a soulless remake by someone who didn't really understand why the original was cool and appealing.
I liked force awakens when it first came out, and I liked what last jedi was trying to do but don’t think it was done well, but rise of skywalker was so insanely bad that it extra ruins the other two in retrospect because it shows that there was never a plan for any of it

It literally had the worst cape though. The white suit and tie was dope, but the completely CGI robes looked awful to me.
I liked the mummy look. I also really liked the Egyptian gods portrayals.
There was definitely stuff to like. I'm just begging that they have some actual robes in the next season instead of CGI.
Yeah it seems unnecessary unless you're doing something like Doctor Strange or Spawn (the Spawn movie had a pretty awesome CGI cape for its time).
Damn now I want a new Spawn movie. The animated series was so fucking good.
