Mango appreciation post. What do you like to do with mangos, aside from absolutely devour them raw?
I like mangos but they irritate my lips real real bad so I don't eat them often.
My boyfriend though? He'll bite into that shit like an apple.
Biting into the skin wtf? Iirc they're cousins of poison ivy or something? There's usually an irritating sap oozing out of the stem but I think the skin can still do that too
I do this too. I don’t eat the skin, but I think it’s way easier to peel it off with my teeth than with tools
Yeah like this! I have exaggerated a bit. He doesn't eat the skin, but has no fear of it touching all his sensitive mucus membranes. Last time we had a mango together he was confused as to why I was eating my pieces so gingerly when he would just pop a chunk into his mouth and scrape the flesh off the skin with his teeth. If I tried that it would ruin my day.

Great topping for black rice and coconut milk. I mean I guess you're still eating them raw but at least its kind of a dessert dish
A perfect mango is too special for anything other than raw. I will say that mango puree is incredible in cocktails though. There is some great mango ice cream too.
Simple mango salso w/ tomato, lime, avo, cilantro, and a spicy pepper or hot sauce of your choice. So so good .
It's a yogurt drink. Any Indian restaurant should have it. I'm so happy you get to experience it for the first time! 😭
I've done a bootleg mango lassi just by blending mango chunks, Greek yogurt, and a bit of milk to thin it out
I have mangos in the category of fruits that are tasty but are more effort than they're worth. Who decided to make the seed so goddamn big? Barely any flesh on the damn thing :meow-cactus:
I love them, but sometimes the seed makes me irrationally angry. Why is it shaped like a rectangle!? Why can't it be roundish like nearly all fruits that contain large seeds??!
True once u cut off the 2 cheeks the bit left is well annoying to get off.
