Queensland right? As of last year qld got pet protections, can only refuse a request with appropriate reason (required containment & health considerations), 14 day auto-approval if no response

      :isaac-pog: YES thank you! :party-cat:

Edit: Oh my god that article is so whiney.

But the Real Estate Institute of Queensland said the bill could be "the final straw" for some investors and might prompt them to sell.

      Lmao

landlord apologists believe the building ceases to exist if landlords sell it, every landlord could be expelled from society and everyone could just be given ownership of where they live and nothing bad would happen. i say its extremely good when capitalists flee regulation unfriendly to them, unless you allow them do demolish their former property it will all still be there for the people to use.

We all know that animals cause damage

Ah yeah all that damage a 4kg cat can cause. It’ll pick at the precious carpet that hasnt been replaced since 2004.

and we all know that you can enter a house and know immediately that a dog's been in this house or a cat's been in this house because of the odour

A gentle reminder you should be replacing the carpet between tenants

landlords? doing work? or even paying for someone else to do it rather than just letting shit get worse?

        fucking impossible

how dare you even suggest that

        do you hate freedom

Well, they can also scratch through that cheap-ass new drywall that all newer buildings are now using, even "luxury" apartments that are that gentrifying grey.

ive had cats my entire life and have literally never had one scratch up drywall. I’d maybe believe a dog would do it but it would make me wonder what’s in the walls that theyre trying to get at…

My cats back at my parents' house did that, but they own the house. When I adopted kittens, they'd scratch the wall after using the litter box, but I nipped that in the bud by getting a litter box with a top on it.
