"Liberal elections are like my hecking Star Wars."

(Ironically, they're right 'cos Jedi were centrist tools ideologically unable to tackle any systemic inequality in the Republic's liberal hegemony.)

Edit: don't know how to link specific YouTube comments, but it was in the comments of this video.

george cut a bunch of politicking scenes from the prequels and attack of the clones would've been way better if it was full of senate speeches instead of what we actually got.

Empire Strikes Back was a stellar movie thanks to the whole Cloud City arc. Rebels on the back foot, desperately looking for allies, and walking right into a trap. The liberal businessman Lando Calrisian attempting to triangulate between good and evil, only to become radicalized into sacrificing his little fiefdom for a Revolution. Luke showing up just in time to lose to his father.

I feel like they tried to recapture that moment in AotC. But between bad acting, sappy romance, and the need for these extended fight scenes, they never had time to key in on the drama of an empire in collapse.

I don’t know anything about Star Wars other than Andor and the first movie, but my impression is that the people who kill imperialists and blow up their equipment are infinitely more useful than the guys in robes debating each other in congress

So many people are gonna walk right into a bullet with a John Williams score and some version of this thought in their heads
