The libs in my circle have stopped caring. I think once it became clear that this was going to be longer than like a month and it wouldn't end with Zelensky shooting a missile into the Kremlin they tuned out.

Ukraine flags are still all over the fucking place where I live. The post office has some small sunflowers there and I’m pretty sure they’re for Ukraine (they’ve never been placed inside before).

I know an old soviet lady from Ukraine who collects wildflowers to make tea, sunflowers are a regular part of it. And there's lots of sunflowers in Everything Is Illuminated, which takes place in/is all about Ukraine, so, uh, yes

Zelensky isn't an idiot, he's just a typical lib. Cowardly and entirely powerless to implement any of what he promised because the Ukrainian right stops him. He's a Russian-speaking Jew who ran on de-escalating the situation in Donbass by implementing Minsk II. But the Ukrainian right wouldn't let him do that and instead pressured him to seek NATO membership. So that's what happened.
