    I would actually like that description of the food if it was used as a juxtaposition on how the poor and working classes of their countries are going to get hit by the embargo. Rich bureaucrats feasting while the poor suffer because of the choices of the bureaucrats is a banger of a narrative.

      That's not what the author is going for here? I feel like I'm missing something, because this doesn't seem like dunk tank material to me at all. I can't think of any other reason those details would be included here.

        It's like when they report on the royals, no critique, no reflection on the conditions of those at the other end of the ladder, just houndish admiration of the luxurious lifestyle of those lording over them.
