      I remember being a kid quite vividly, and I would be bored to tears if I had to watch that instead of transforming robots beating the crap out of each other.

        There's been a gradual shift I can't quite explain. Adult entertainment is more like what used to be for kids. Kids now watch stuff that used to be for pre-verbal infants.
