I found it extremely compelling how weighty the combat and even non-combat scenes felt. Every object actually had an implied mass, deformed when struck together, bounced believably... It was the most 'kinetic' animation-type show I've seen in a long while.
Later they even play with disconnecting the mass from weight through hextec which makes that stuff look so much more powerful.
