Chuds regularly game these reviews to mine for screenshots to manufacture consent. It is not a huge deal, but the reason they all bombed positive reviews on the transphobic Ricky Gervais comedy special was so all these Right Wing channels could screenshot, and broadcast to normies that the professional critics negatively reviewing it were out of touch elites and the masses “knew” Gervais was just “telling the truth” about the “trans agenda.” Presenting transphobia as just truth being besieged by elites is intended to shift public belief that the marginalized actually have outsized coercive power and therefore their outcries about persecution can be treated with indifference.

I'm sorry to tell you but anybody that would be convinced that trans people are subhuman because they saw a few reviews online or got told that "normal" people were catching on to the conspiracy about a trans agenda, then they'd be not worth having in the first place. We don't need to open our doors to shitty people that once a trans person is a little unkind to them they immediately turn and say why we need to be genocided. Review bombing an Amazon show will do nothing just like review bombing the shitty Harry Potter game that's on the horizon will do nothing and through engaging beyond saying that Rowling is a TERF and the game will fund her TERF ideology gives it more attention than it deserves and even then has more of a positive impact than some Amazon reviews that chuds will ignore to just point out the exact same reviews anyway.

I am not taking about those people, I am talking about the politically uninvolved people those people try to misinform, creating the perception that makes them think things like "You can do what you want to your own body, but just don't teach my kid to do it" or "I am as liberal as the next guy but this canceling of comedians is hurting free speech and making me less sympathetic to their cause"

I'm talking about those politically uninvolved people. What use are they to a movement? They demand that we mainstream our demands for equal rights by simply letting us assimilate into the capitalist system without addressing the foundational flaws in how we approach gender in our society. Rev. King's Letter from Birmingham Jail sums it up nicely.

"First, I must confess that over the last few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season."
