Zelensky requires more blood for the blood god! More meat for the shredder! And Ukranians are just gonna continue to go along with this because nationalism I guess. Gotta preserve muh precious territory, even if it means destroying everything and everyone I claim to love!

to not piss off the right and get himself killed. he campaigned on peace through minsk II and leaving donbass alone, but as soon as he was elected he realized he was surrounded by the type of people who would never let him do that and get away with it
there's also a real danger of Ukraine surrendering but the army continuing to fight
The hardcore nationalist formations will probably continue to fight or become terrorists, but the main bulk of the Ukrainian military probably won't continue if Kiev gives in. There's already videos of Ukrainian units refusing orders due to insufficient support from Kiev. If those are true and not staged, they point to real morale problems.
yeah that's what I meant which would essentially kick off the war again as Russia for obvious reasons is unwilling to put up with hardline militias who want to ethnically cleanse all Russians
This is true but recently its also come into question which faction of oligarchs hes (now) beholden to. Ihor Kolomoisky has been considered a patron for a while but since the war began persecution of rival oligarchs and confiscation of property has intensified, not merely known pro-Russian sympathizers but also anyone with even tenuous ties to Yanukovych, Medvedchuk, even Poroschenko. This guy ran on a populist anti-corruption platform, his election was basically a middle finger to the planners of the Maidan coup, yet he's pretty much become beholden to the same old persecutorial factional politics as has always been the case.
I heard about Kolomoisky and Zelenskyy a little while ago.. Where can I go (and where should I send people) to learn more about this "patronage"?
I've mostly just heard it mentioned around but Grubstakers has a whole episode dedicated to Kolomoisky that I thought was really informative
