I just got permanently banned from r/latestageimperialism for calling one of the head mods a :fedposting: lmao.
I've also been banned from r/moretankie196 because of a dumb bit where I pretended to be a conservative and r/shitliberalssay for saying that someone posted something that was obvious satire and calling them dumb. And I got banned from r/latestagecapitalism and r/boringdystopia for saying that Jeremy Corbyn should have done a literal stalinist purge of the Labour party
I got banned for telling the mod on shitliberalssay (didnt even know he was a mod when replying, lol talk about power trip) that it's not ok for americans to kill kids and destroy countries even if they're doing it for college.
I'm convinced that there's something about moderating a subreddit specifically that will turn even the most mild mannered person into a complete asshole
My theory is that this happens due to self-selection bias: moderating a subreddit basically boils down to doing a bunch of unpaid labour in return for a meagre amount of power over other people, so it generally attracts individuals who are willing to do a bunch of unpaid labor for a scrap of power over others i.e. petty nerds. Of course, none of this applies to our glorious hexbear mods :scared:
That subs moderation is a complete dumpsterfire, I've literally seen people getting banned for the exact opposite sentiment
It's impossible to know what's permitted or not at any given time
