Is the bunny children? Is it about single issue voters?

Remember that the world conservatives think we live in has almost nothing in common with the real world. The thought process is likely the following:

    • Two years ago, ANTIFA burned down 6 entire US cities and killed tends of thousands
    • ANTIFA communist terrorists in Kenosha were only prevented from blowing up the country with an old-timey spherical bomb because Kyle Rittenhouse shot them, as is his god given right as a white male
    • If it weren't for the second amendment, this could never have happened, and ANTIFA would have burned down every building in the US, then eaten everyone right of Joe Biden, who is at least as extreme as Mao.

Also, the SJW antifa communist menace threatens everything they hold dear, but is also so laughably weak and pathetic that they commit suicide if a Groyper meme is strategically posted at just the right time.

Understanding this cartoon boils down to some basic things:

    1. Conservatives view liberals or anyone that doesn't vote republican as the "left". Since they don't understand what communism really is, they assume its like our government except "even bigger". They see communism as what the US is but with extreme taxes that cripple their freedoms.

    2. The believe the old notion that if they get their guns taken away they won't be able to "fight" the government. They think fighting the government is sticking a gun in AOC's face. They don't see fighting the government as shooting police or soldiers. If the second amendment was removed the left would obviously devour them. Which is funny considering how it is a revolutionary's utter dream to easily arm the masses. If the "left" as they see it started buying guns in mass and threatening conservatives with them, conservatives would absolutely HATE the second amendment.

    3. They view themselves as the silent majority and the rabbit is supposed to represent not just a republican but the average US citizen.

Any confusion is valid though, because it is asinine.

Not the average, not without some adjustments for who counts. :lmayo: :us-foreign-policy:

Seems like they're implying that the left actually wants to repeal the second amendment so they can kill conservatives and they would have no way to defend themselves from the onslaught lol

The comic is hamfisted because the rabbit is intended to point the gun at the wolf. That's how guns work. It would be too on-the-nose to publish a comic of a gun labeled "2nd amendment" pointed at a chained wolf labeled "the left", at least yet. The artist has to create an obtuse representation of how guns are used to control people, being used as a stake in the ground for a dog leash. Guns actually control people as a threat of violence.

The left is suppressed by threats of violence. The state and police side with the right and use violence against the left. Violence is used on progressive protesters. Violence is used on union workers. Violence is used on people of color. Violence is used on LGBT. Violence is used on unhoused people. The right wing has a monopoly on violence.

The comic tells the reactionary audience that they need to personally own a gun to threaten "the left" with violence.

You can see the front sight on the rifle, so it's not even buried so much as balanced. Your work is sloppy, random conservative newspaper comic artist.

it's a wolf looking at the bunny but it's staked into the ground by the gun. so if the bunny takes the stake out, the wolf will eat it. but then the bunny has a gun :blob-stabby:

This is a case where the labels make this shit more confusing. This is why none of these imitators can touch good ol' Ben.

I think the bunny wolf symbolism is that the wolf is the big bad left that wants to destroy the right, represented by the bunny. You know, because its right wingers who are being oppressed. The left is chained to the 2nd amendment, so it can't kill and eat the bunny, but it wants to abolish the 2nd amendment (get rid of the stake) so it can be free to destroy the right. The 2nd amendment holds the wolf back I assume because it allows right wingers to stock up on guns which dissuades the leftist hordes from attacking their gated suburbs, something that would definitely 100% happen if right-wingers didn't have guns.
