I do love this take I really do. I don't doubt that, while remembering US and friends do worse, Russia's various agencies stuck their oar in and spread some propaganda. I mean if there's a chance to stir some shit and get someone like Trump elected or Brexit passed why not?

It really is a drop in the ocean though. Russia didn't create the vast gulf in inequality that drives millions to vote for anything but the status quo. They also don't own the S*n, the mail, telegraph, fox news etc... who routinely pump out reactionary, divisive and 'anti science' (whatever the fuck that means these days) propaganda to distract people from that massive gulf in inequality.

It's like repeatedly smashing yourself in the knees with a lump hammer and then blaming the fact you can't walk on the person pointing at you and laughing.

Americans have the biggest and most widespread propaganda machine in the world and somehow it's Russia convincing racists across the world to wave Confederate Flags and scream about their constitutional rights.

They definitely do put out anti-fracking propaganda in the US, but I don't see why that matters like at all. It's propaganda. It's everywhere. :amerikkka: is easily the most propagandized country on the planet, and most of it is internal.

As close as Brexit was, I think there is a good chance that Russia tipped the scales. Same thing with Trump being elected.

anything bad that happens in my perfect anglophonic nations is only because there are bad people somewhere else in the world :galaxy-brain:

I love how it's just assumed that Putin must want to take over the entire world and kill everybody because he's the bad guy. I think deep down, these people know that's not true, but they also know that their lives suck and this could be their one real chance to talk like an Avengers character.

if you criticize people who are in charge and doing nothing about problems, you are an asset of the Russian Federation.

Russia has plants to influence elections? Seems like they’re not efficient like the CIA. Those guys just shoot people.
