It's incredibly sad that some people are so brainwashed that they actually WANT to make their life as joyless as possible.
It's wild that it's intentional. Like I've found myself "optimizing" myself to a more joyless life, but only because I didn't a realize that the longer route to school was more enjoyable, or that being alone with my thoughts while doing laundry felt better than using that time to do work. Like I always expect people who optimize their time into misery aren't accounting that some wasted time can be psychologically beneficial, I hadn't considered people are literally slicing off time that's normally booked for hobbies or entertainment.
One would think "Hacker News" would be a cool anarco/techno lefties holdover website from the early 90s. A dumb name for a real-ass website for that sort of organziation that managed escape the walled gardens of web 2.0.
It's a shame that it's actually just a start-up circus of clowns trying to get one over on each other while trying to write "I did it so can you" shit.
That site sounds dope though. Like a confusing mix of lefty techno-optimists and the sort of people who submit papers to SIGBOVIK. You can talk about crypto currency on it but a moderator will apply a dunce cap to all of your posts.

It still miles above when it comes to technological discussion then this place's tech sub or reddit and the image boards for that matter. They truly are disgusting ideological freaks but they actually have something interesting to say when you poke them with obscure programming language or operating system from years of working and studying in the field. Though alot of it is also "I can't believe anybody is using c".
And there really should be no expectation that we can match that kind of expertise with any spare energy going towards theory and trying to work with others. The internet really is a trap. This site could be a trap.
