"We hold that acting President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was not legitimately elected by the people of the United States," says a resolution acted on by Texas Republicans.

It also includes language that suggests this is a pretext to start actual serious conversations about secession.

Edit: i've lived in Texas the majority of my life so I am fully aware that republican idiots talk about about secession ever other day or more and have as long as I've been alive. But as far as I'm aware this hasn't been in their official platform and the fact that this is combined with their statement on Biden tells me this is a measure or two more serious than idiot tough guy talk.

    The Chapo boys were dead on when they said Biden would be the last president lmao. It’s simultaneously unbelievable and perfectly on character for the American project to be ended by a bunch of whiny pissbabies who can’t accept losing and would rather burn the room down than admit they were wrong about something

      They also said that if Texas succeeded from the US they'd instantly be overtaken by Mexican cartels, so here's hoping I get to see something like that happen. Condolences, but that whole state needs to be taken down a peg.

        I mean, there's a degree of truth to it. The cartels run their municipalities like little fiefs. A seceded Texas would likely adopt this model, with corporate sponsored police gangs terrorizing locals into compliance.
