      Thanks for the rundown. Being trans seems hard enough, adding in being called a faker can only compound that.

      And the medical sciences always seem to be behind the zeitgeist on these kinds of issues, huh? I think homosexuality wasn't delisted as a psychiatric condition until like the 80s?

      it comes from a place of "if we appease the cis and don't allow the people who are too weird into our circle, society will accept us". which is fundamentally a reactionary place as you start dividing the in-group from the out-group on essentialist lines.

          I felt charitably about it for a long time but her attitude about it has been straight up combative for too long to really buy that as an explanation. the way you act represents the way you think better than the mere words coming out of your mouth. if her incentives are leading her to reaction, she has the remarkable freedom to change her incentives, being a petit bourgeois minor celebrity.
