Often times they are shocked that I don’t like America, and when I tell them they destroyed my country and it’s why I’m here, they get uncomfortable because they can’t openly be smug since I’m not white. They’ll say some shit like “I’m sorry that happened. But the US has changed and we’re improving” which usually makes me laugh. Then they just do that patronizing frowny face :powercry-1: and say “I’m sorry you feel that way.” Their civility fetish prevents them from saying “well you deserved it” that’s for sure.

Online though, they don’t care lol. They’ll drop their mask as soon as you annoy them

Yeah and also really hypocritical about getting offended at racism. Like they'll say shit like "whats for lunch Tankie? Rice?" but get really fucking mad if anyone implies that black people like fried chicken.

White people are constantly looking for an acceptable outlet for their racism and the media is too happy to give them one

Both East and South Asian communities are cursed with large contingents of people who don't want to rock the boat under any circumstances.

Perhaps understandable for new immigrants who are a tiny slip from being deported, but not good when passed on through the generations.
