    I thought it was weird that the popular "alternative" for COVID prevention was also a pharmaceutical product made by a big pharma company. I would have expected people skeptical of vaccines to avoid any traditional pharmaceuticals altogether and go for some essential oil or something (which definitely happened but not to the extent of the dewormer)

      I feel like for that to have happened most of them would've come from a strict esoteric anti-vaxxer background and while that does exist and did in part lay the groundwork to legitimize this sort of widespread nonsense, I'd be fairly certain most of them really weren't anti-vaxxers before and got into it because culture war. The libs are for it, we must be against it.

      I mean even in the roots of the anti-vaxx movement with the MMR Vaccine, they're alternative was always just giving those vaccines separately, because the hack fraud asshole doctor had a financial stake in that happening. It wasn't really against big pharma and I don't even think most of the anti-vaxxer crowd we have today are, they'll happily take their aspirins or their tylenols and what not.
