I mean it's still crazy that it's even illegal federally. I feel like it's one of those things that would be a total slam dunk and provide good will to the democratic party if they just descheduled it, but they probably did some stupid ass study that showed that it is a better motivaring factor to just keep teasing rhe base and getting young people to think they'll do it, but never actually do it. Of course, they don't really give a shit that weed possession charges literally ruins people's lives. They also probably think it's useful to keep it illegal so cops and stop and brutalized black people for no reason - that is "uhh I smell weed!"

I thought it was weird that the popular "alternative" for COVID prevention was also a pharmaceutical product made by a big pharma company. I would have expected people skeptical of vaccines to avoid any traditional pharmaceuticals altogether and go for some essential oil or something (which definitely happened but not to the extent of the dewormer)
I feel like for that to have happened most of them would've come from a strict esoteric anti-vaxxer background and while that does exist and did in part lay the groundwork to legitimize this sort of widespread nonsense, I'd be fairly certain most of them really weren't anti-vaxxers before and got into it because culture war. The libs are for it, we must be against it.
I mean even in the roots of the anti-vaxx movement with the MMR Vaccine, they're alternative was always just giving those vaccines separately, because the hack fraud asshole doctor had a financial stake in that happening. It wasn't really against big pharma and I don't even think most of the anti-vaxxer crowd we have today are, they'll happily take their aspirins or their tylenols and what not.
