Seconding the recommendation for a long taper. Here is a resource I found a while ago when helping a friend with this. It does seem to me that the prescribed tapers for most psychiatric drugs are too short to prevent adverse effects in all cases, likely because our current treatment strategy is trial-and-error and it's beneficial to swap drugs more quickly.

Brain zaps are the wooooorst. Are you on Cymbalta? That's what I take and if I miss just one dose I am miserable.
