:what-the-hell: doing all these psycho rulings before the next justice gets sworn in. got it
Stephen Breyer's retiring. Today's his last day. Ketanji Brown Jackson was confirmed in April to take his seat. She's slightly less evil than the average federal judge and hey, first black woman on the supreme court! Just in time for her to not be able to do anything.
Can Republicans block her in any conceivable way? Because if so
The opportunity for them to pull some hijinks was during the confirmation hearings, and they just didn't have the numbers. Honestly there's no reason they have to care about her at this point beyond sheer racism. The court is theirs, and they can expect every case they care about to go the way they want until another republican president is in office.
Short of assassination, no.
But they could always impeach her if they get enough senators and feel like it.
There’s no reason to, she’s replacing Breyer, one of the other Dems. They still have their 6-3 majority
The latest Andreas Malm book is quite the read. Not as instructional as I would hope, but a really good argument for more Direct action.
