Place your bets for the next leader now!

Intersectional Fascism, Austerity+, Thatcher as Farce, or any of the rogue's gallery of Home Counties Dads?

It's all to play for as we find out who the press will use to rehabilitate Johnson in 3 years when they fail to do anything about the Moloch Machine that is modern Britain!

I'm going with Michael Gove. Mostly because that's the most awfully ghoulish option.

Agreed, but he tied himself too closely to Johnson. That said, an election for PM is likely months away despite Boris capitulating.

I don't know if he's worse than Suelle Braverman, but that's mostly because i do not know much about that particular clown.

I'm not completely aware of Gove's background (mostly heard about him during Brexit).

He's anti-expert, as in he can't stand the idea of experts in any field advising policy and stated as much during Brexit.

He's come out in favour of execution via hanging in past but I'm unclear what his current views are on it.

He wrote a whole book in favour of complete privatisation of the NHS.

His wife is a pretty powerful ghoul in the Murdoch press.

Was deeply in favour of the Iraq war and has supported every conflict that has occurred while he's been an MP.

He supports gay marriage though so there's a sort of Blairite liberal who likes him.

Gove is a weasel fuck. Most of his senior political career was engineered by his (ex?) wife who has lots of hoighty-toighty connections through her job as a journalist - she was behind his gormless attempt at the recent leadership when he and Boris ran - when Boris won Gove's wife went mental and started smashing shit because she thought she would be married to the Prime Minister of Great Britain.

So their history is probably why he was fired instead of resigning - Boris taking revenge for all the poison his wife was dripping into everyone's ear. I wouldn't be surprised if Gove's office was the source for all the party / Covid strife. Gove is a busted flush now, he may well run again but he'll never get the Top Job.

Priti Patel is basically a cenobite and probably the worst possible choice, so therefore my bet's on her.

rishi sunak seems the most likely choice - he basically led this coup after all
