Seems like it’s anti-EU protests, something about Bulgaria being shitty to Macedonia? Anyone have more context?
I'm not up on Balkan history and also just did some reading.. sounds like Bulgaria is blocking North Macedonia's EU bid until they change some things related to the Bulgarian minority. Macron helped design a compromise proposal which Bulgaria and the North Macedonian president accepted. North Macedonian nationalists are not happy about the agreement presumably because they see it as an outside party deciding what goes in their constitution.
Basically a summary of this article, accurate or bad history?
I have no idea what's going on right now, I think Bulgaria has historically been shitty to Macedonians and North Macedonian. Like seeing them as "lesser Bulgarians" or something and treating the Macedonian language as just a variety of Bulgarian instead of it's own separate language.
