The first few months of 2020 felt like the entire universe conspiring increasingly dire circumstances to prevent anything good from ever happening again
That summer is so bittersweet because I remember feeling more hope than I ever had in my life. I personally watched someone throw a rock at a cop's sunglasses and break them. People were mad and it felt good.
...then nothing changed. Everyone went home. It became a debate about statues. Police murders didn't even stop.
The only hope I have now is the belief that people can and will do that summer again, since they did it once.
