But it seems likely that, just as in the 2008 financial crash, the bad-faith actors who exacerbated this meltdown will walk away unscathed.

    bad-faith

    pure liberalism

I generally feel sympathy for people who get suckered into scams or cults, but crypto-bros are so fucking smug and obnoxious about it I can't muster a single drop of pity for them. Like you literally bet your life savings on a jpeg of a monkey and told anyone saying this was a bad idea that they were going to die poor in a ditch while you laughed.

Like Amway people or Scientologists are annoying, but they are outwardly polite and nice people. I have never met a group more objectionable and loathsome than crypto-bros.

scams and cults tend to draw a specific kind of person. the smugness and elitism combined with massive fomo was the pull for this one. this made it actively repulsive for anyone not in the target audience. really a lot of trends are like this to a greater or lesser extent. Lots of sonic fans are neurodivergent and aren't cishet. vegans come across as kinda grating because that was the style of argument that convinced them. People who go into academia really really need approval.

As a vegan this is like, the first good vegan (not really) insult I've heard

Thanks. I wanted to be very careful to make my observation but not insult vegans(at least not hard).

A lotta y’all still don’t get it: you can use multiple scream juices on a single ape.

And you think if you save poor bitcoin, you could make them stop, don't you? You think if bitcoin lives, you won't wake up in the dark ever again to that awful screaming of the apes

Brave Clarice. You will let me know when those apes stop screaming, won't you?

Look, all I'm saying is if they're smart enough to do all that analysis and be an obnoxious crypto bro, then it's funny to watch them eat shit

Everything in crypto is speculative and gambling. Do not play poker with money you need to pay your bills, same goes for this

I hope nobody winds up destitute because of this, but I'm also not wasting any energy feeling sorry for them. they were literally fine burning down the planet to chase tulips until the music stopped and they didn't have a chair

Anyone who put in their crypto in shit like Celsius isn't even smart and/or didn't do any analysis. "Not your keys, Not your coins" is like rule number one if you wanna play in that scam.

Love to be an alpha by following people on Twitter and spending endless amounts of time in Discord listening to people negotiate the ETH : syrianChild exchange rate

“They call it ‘being an alpha’,” he says “You have to be on Twitter, and follow the right people, and be in the right Discord channel. You listen to the right chatrooms. It makes you feel so special.”

Wait so being “alpha” means … find someone/some clique to follow and never question anything? Like isn’t that the opposite of what “alpha” means … ?!

It's only alpha if you listen to the right people, like me. Now, listen.
