Other than San Francisco, where can a weirdo or non-model-citizen live in relative safety?

multicolor haired people who are nominally gay?

    The fuck does this mean?

Nominally in common usage means "in name only", which excludes people who are identify as gay alongside presenting in a non-heteronormative manner. It's not the right term and there are some laborious mental gymnastics being made ITT to justify a poor choice of words

By nominally gay I basically mean a cis person whose sexuality hasn't had significant consequences on their material conditions. Perhaps nominally wasn't the right word to use.

"Societally privileged gay people" or something like that would be better. "Nominal" in common usage means "in name only".

Using words incorrectly is a good way to learn their proper usage as long as you're not a stubborn ass when corrected. I do it all the time!

In a heteronormative society being anything except cis-straight will affect your material conditions. That includes cis gay people, even the ones who are still closeted and trying to pass as straight. For fuck's sake I know the world is getting more reactionary, but could we not retread half baked discourse from fucking 2002 please?

I'm gay and I don't think a cis white person whose sexuality is an understated part of their public identity faces the same repression as a trans/black person who has to cross the street every damn day. I'don't mean to say fuck cis gay people and their experiences don't matter.
