    The best of all imaginable outcomes would have been a Puyi scenario where the former despot was reformed and integrated into society. Shooting the tsar without having a fair trial first was not ideal either. The minors of the Romanovs were too young to be responsible the way the adults were.

    But it was one hastily decided execution made under chaotic circumstances more than a century ago. I'm not going to lose any more sleep about it than liberals do over those millions of innocents who were killed in the same period by the capitalist system that the Romanovs represented.
