It's one of the few choices I've made to be more eco friendly that is miles and away better than the "wasteful" products I used to use. I'm never going back. I think some people have issues finding a cup shape that is conducive to their equipment and there are some conditions that make insertion difficult. On the other hand, in my opinion there's nothing worse than removing a dry tampon or unsticking a pad from yourself.
I also recommend the safety razor for everyone who shaves.
Do you have a recommendation for a good razor, by the by? I've been using this ultra basic Maggard one but it doesn't shave anything unless the top is unscrewed to the point of almost falling off :deeper-sadness:
I have a Merkur. I used the safety razor subreddit to decide. You unscrew at the bottom to pull the top off. I've never had a problem with the blade moving. I paid about 40 EUR IIRC.
When I still had periods, menstrual cups were the only thing that made them even slightly bearable. In my experience, a decent cup will handle a super heavy flow better than anything else. Combine a cup with a reusable cloth pads and I could forget I was on my period for like 3 hours at a time. Compared to the constant, never ending leaking of tampons and the inability of just a pad to deal with how much I bled, cups were a life saver.
So yes, in my experience, menstrual cups are awesome and everyone with a period should at least try one to see if they like it.
My current partner prefers them, but my last partner tried them while we were together and found them uncomfortable and kinda messy, and preferred a tampon + liner combo.

I think it’s a personal preference thing
