I had a look at the sidebar rules. There is the expected don't do this and don't do that which goes on and on. But there's something that made me laugh. The ninth list item at the very end. They basically say they'll give you a temporary or permanent ban based on vibes.
Emphasis mine.
9. Violation of sub rules and/or site-wide rules may result in post removal, warnings or bans at moderator discretion. The moderators of this subreddit reserve, in some circumstances, the right to exercise disciplinary measures based on violations witnessed in modmail or PMs and the right to arbitrarily discipline users for violations of the spirit of the rules or disruption of the subreddit's healthy functioning.
If you want to appeal or dispute any mod action, please send a modmail. PMs and chat messages to the mods are grounds for a temporary ban; posts contesting mod action will be removed and are also grounds for a temporary or permanent ban.
Not every sub is shit. The large ones over 50k (or maybe 100k) subscribers are almost guaranteed to be shit. And the mods there are like busy body middle school kids who achieved their dream of being an asshole slash narc with a zero percent chance of getting stuffed in a locker again.
But smaller subs can be chill and the mods are actually there to make the sub better and not worse. There's no "my way or the highway" modding.

To be honest every reddit mod upholds that rule whether it's listed or not.

Love the legalese like it's some binding document.
I think the best subs tend to be the ones that have no rules (maybe because they are so small) or there's something like this...
