Showing up to all your protestes on a motorcycle with many guns is very un-lib, but then so is winning.

I'm the kind of person who gets irrationally annoyed at stuff like this in movies and every time I watch it I can't help but exclaim how just turning the massive cliff faucets on willy nilly is absurd

that scene is supposed to be visually cathartic, not make you pull out your protractor to calculate how many liters of water they're using

I mean, maybe they should install like normal sized spigots so shitloads of water isn't just blasted over the sand and like, on top of people. It doesn't make any sense!

Give them some time jeez. Also they probably have a massive amount of water and the scarcity is entirely artificial.

They still think climate change can be avoided and they won't have to drastically change their lives. It makes sense.

Margaret Atwood is a self-described monarchist and tory. Also Oryx and Crake is her best novel (that I've read)

I didn't like Oryx bc it was so relentlessly miserable but looking back I have to admit she was mostly right about the miserable parts. I have no idea what the bits about snowman and the crakers was trying to say.

Is identifying the problem but saying a solution is impossible just an atwood thing?

I really enjoyed this book too but had a hard time taking away much from it. It seemed like a story much more intent on character development than really saying anything (besides maybe unfettered science being frightening).

I don't understand it either, libs like to pretend that Trump is the centre of all evil not just an outgrowth of capitalism. It would be really easy for them to Photoshop Trump onto Immortan Joe and think they made a good point.

    Mediocre!
