    Everyone!

This may sound insane (and maybe it is!) but...

    ...I think BrandoSando... is overrated.

    Runs away.

      Brandon Sanderson is absolutely overrated.

I think there's something about Mormonism that stunts people emotionally and intellectually. Orson Scott Card*, Brandon Sanderson, Stephanie Meyer, David Farland, they all have this ... simplicity and juveinility to their characterizations of people and relationships. It's hard to put my finger on.

      • ok I will admit OSC has written a couple brilliant works but I believe he accidentally struck gold with those based on how dogshit and pathetic most of his books are.

It's always sad to me when you meet an adult who says they like reading but it turns out to all be YA stuff like this

I enjoyed Sanderson. When I was a young adult. Then there was just kind a point where I finished one of his books and was like, huh, that kinda sucked. Still read the next one before dropping him, being like, huh, yeah, this kinda sucks.

Its not bad, if anything they're tightly written. But its just like, slop, even aside from the mormon brainworms in there.

Likewise. No shade on reading cotton candy. I thought allomancy in mistborn was cool. Just, reading only cotton candy is like talking about how great commercials are when someone asks if you like movies.
