Publishers that throw conservatives under the bus out of fear seem to have forgotten their core business. They should focus on producing good content and not let the woke mob decide who works for them.

Anyone got the over/under on the actual reason he was let go was him being a creep to another writer and/or keeps going off about how the democrats are plotting to take over the country and have all conservatives put to death? And yes that second one is a thing he does.

edit: And as you all can see from his twitter account, he is a straight up piece of shit. So no surprise most BT fans couldn't care despite him writing for this IP for so long.

So, I did some digging, and I now have come to the conclusion that the real reason why he got let go is because he decided on the 21st of this month (so 8 days before he posts this temper tantrum) that he publicly annouces that he's going to be launching a KS soon of a tabletop wargame and universe that has it's description read a lot like Battletech with some names changed around to make it legally distinct.

(taken from link in this post)

The image is the cover of Splashdown. What you see is an ASHUR rig – named for the Assyrian god of war. Twenty-five years from now, ASHUR’s dominate the battlefield. The battlespace of combat is mix of armor, GRD’s (Ground Robotic Drones), infantry, and ASHUR’s. It is warfare evolved, and Land & Sea is a military sci-fi series that will grab your attention and hold it tight.

I sure do wonder where he got some of these ideas from.

Which is hilarious because Battletech has monarchism and fascism on by default in it's lore, while surprisingly there not really being any bigotry based on race, gender, sexual orientation, and sex in lore. Though a lot of the older fanbase continues to forget this a depressingly high amount of times. Except for the space fudal japan nation (formed by a fucking weeb for that era of japan, seriously) and I think the parody space china nation doing some sexism during the succession wars.

Yeah that sounds exactly what I expect out of BT lore, you know with how often the Clans get written like horseshoe theroy is somehow a thing.

Gotta drum up controversy to help get that anti-woke money flowing.

How do you get cancelled in Battletech? Aren't two of the major factions Imperial Japan and Prussian Militarism?

Yes, you also have a bad mix of Imperial and Maoist China, and also a bunch of factions of Warrior Culture nations with varying degrees of horseshoe theory.

I was afraid this was going to be about Stackpole, the grand master of descriptive vehicular demolition. Phew. :meow-bounce:

If that chud thinks Battletech is too "woke," I bet he'd thrash on the floor with foam spurting out of his mouth after reading a few chapters of my own mecha novels. :frothingfash:

There are so many of these grognards in niche communities. By simply having been there at the ground floor they have an inflated sense of importance.

Often the IPs are popular in spite of the writers rather than thanks to them. They occupy such a specific niche they are just successful by default.
