It's bad that a game you pay for can block you from even having a self hosted server. They shouldn't be able to take that away. No consumer rights issue is the most important issue in the world, but its still important
i disagree with the original sentiment but i agree with this. the license based """ownership""" model we are seemingly heading into is fucking awful. don't think there's much to be done about it at this point though.

i understand your reasoning and i agreed with it in the past, but the status quo doesn't need a reason to silence and persecute us. if they do feel the need to they'll just make one up and no will care, just like no one cared that as soon as the war on Ukraine started the media narrative changed from 'azov battalion nazis' to 'azov battalion freedom fighters'. or the reverse with the taliban.

The main problems are people reporting you to get you banned for nothing, and getting banned bans you from all servers, including private self-hosted. It would make sense if it only applied to Realms, but applying to private servers is pretty bullshit.
Of course for private servers it can be gotten around with a mod, but that shouldn't be necessary.

Well anarchy servers have been around for a long time. It’s basically just 4chan Minecraft. A lot of wild exploits have been developed specifically for those servers since everything is allowed
But aside from that and typical grooming on online games for children, I’d say that’s about the extent of it

I developed a particular hatred of anarchy servers after that one guy blew up on youtube for chronicling the history of 2B2T and it's just the most petty bullshit. They give themselves overly grandiose names and talk about how they create exploits just to ruin other people's work or to just try to break the thing. The youtuber treats it as if it's some epic history when it's mainly a bunch of 4chan nerds being assholes to each other. On one of the videos someone talked about how they logged on to check it out only to be greeted with people spamming slurs in the chat so they logged off and never went back. I imagine these places are going to install a plugin to get around this anyway.
The filter is kinda silly though, "crap" is a banned word for instance.
it's fucking stupid; you might whine about "le chuds" saying the nword or whatever, but I honestly see this as just more colonization of the metaverse, more bullshit that controls and homogenizes everything.
basically if me and/or my community are paying to maintain a server, I should be able to say "removedling Sremovedhorpe" all day long without reprisal.
