Disjointed cameos that serve no purpose other than fan service. I was expecting like a cameo of Emilio to build up to Walt and Jesse appearing, but nah. They just throw it at you right at the beginning and then... nothing of substance. No context, no nothing. You don’t even know why they kidnapped him unless you watched the show.

Having watched BB, I could fill in the holes, but considering it’s mainly a prequel, just cutting to him engaging in debauchery and getting involved in the drug trade rather than just “having a guy” who can get him out of a jam is just weird, especially having his heart break just a second ago. Bravo Vince.

just cutting to him engaging in debauchery and getting involved in the drug trade

I think that was how he dealt with the heartbreak, plus there was a timeskip between kim leaving and where we are now.

Also not knowing why they kidnapped him makes sense because Saul doesn't know

I thought the last episode didn't advance anything either, until I watched this latest one. As a serialized hit show they feel confident in building something across episodes.

I found it immediately weird that these actors were being asked to play 20 year younger versions of themselves

Especially the guy who was supposed to be 'grizzled old guy who survived this life'

I watched the first two seasons and it's just so low stakes I got bored.
