      That's what I gathered from it as well lmao, also so he couldn't request different representation or anything like that to try to delay the trial

      Honestly I think the lawyers made a deal so Jones' wouldn't get disbarred for very obviously hiding evidence and they just ratfucked him.

      Couldn't have ratfucked a better guy though so I'm here for it.

        I don't think it matters any more. I think there was some recent supreme court case that set a precedent that you can't get a retrial or sue the lawyers if they fuck up.

          You can't introduce different evidence at a federal trial for an escalated state case even if the evidence was present but not introduced due to inadequate/incompetent representation as I understood it.

          Very clearly stupid & wrong, but at least somewhat limited in scope
