    Can't you just hold the kids hand? It's what I do with my nieces and nephews

    Literally never seen a child leash in my life

      Yeah, until the kid starts squirming and screaming bc they don't want to hold your hand anymore. A leash gives them freedom of movement while keeping them within a safe distance.

        Yeah but what if some random dude trips on the leash, twirls around in the air, landing head first into an open manhole, resulting in a comically large growth on their head, and steam starts pouring out of their ears as their face turns red, propelling them back up, and they grab you by the neck and squeeze you like a paper cup, catapulting you into a nearby river where you then drown?

      When one of my kids tries to elope, I'll hold their hand or carry them through the transition. They hate hand holding, they pull hard on their wrists and it is really scary. A lease would be a better solution IMO.
