The Discord was having a ball with it. Their Patreon apparently had a ton of people leaving comments about how awful it was and cancelling their subscription, which as much as the subreddit annoyed the hosts it wasnt as direct a threat to their income.
I think they were super lucky the sub was killed when that got released. There are some real bad takes in it.
