My cat used to try that until I started turning the faucet on for her to drink from
she demands the freshest, crispest water and I guess freshly-flushed toilet water qualified. shes also tried drinking the water out of my mouth when I use my water flosser, she's a gross baby :visible-disgust:
I even got them a little kitty water fountain but the older one still tries to get at any source of water she can. She also tries to drink from any glasses that get left out so I can only drink from a waterbottle.
Cats prefer running water because they see it as safer than standing stagnant water. They even make little water bowl fountains for them that keep the water moving.
