Gotta be ReBoot.
The Reboot of ReBoot also gets an honorable mention - it's bad, but they put in a character that makes fun of fans of the original while also pandering to those fans with pointless cameos of original series characters, and that takes guts.
It was on Netflix, called ReBoot: The Guardian Code. It's not very good, but I don't remember anyone being pissed about it - just a "meh" kids show.
Gintama is probably my favorite, one of the mascots is a man who wears a shitty bird costume, and it references/makes fun of most other popular anime.
