I know it's because it's a pigment in the skin which blocks sunlight when present, but is very annoying that higher albedo people absorb more sun. It's like how endo and ecto thermic mean opposite things in chemistry versus biology
I don't think so. The pigment itself is dark, so even if our range was different as long we still mostly saw visible light it would look dark. We have UV cameras though, so maybe see if humans look different under them.
