The slap heard round the world. Where were you? I was at home in my underwear eating peanut butter when the phone rang:

    Hello?

    Chirs Rock is slap.

    NO

Na na na na na no he's not. Chris is one of the realest you will ever meet. Will is an absolute fake ass which has been slowly unraveling the past few years to the public, finally. Only thing i like about him are the Summertime track and Fresh prince. Oh and he tries to be your friend so bad, but that shit didn't work on me because in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.

    Chris Rock-Will Smith slapping incident

I started reading the Wikipedia page but it was a bit dull. I did like this bit about Kevin Costner though...

This exchange caused the local audience and journalists to realize that Smith's reaction was genuine. Kevin Costner, who waited offstage to present the Academy Award for Best Director, said: "Oh, that was real."

I realized the page kept going and going and going. It's 5,000+ words long. So that was enough of that.

Comedian Gilbert Gottfried's final post on social media before his death on April 12 was supportive toward Rock, asking "Which is the worst crime? Chris Rock being physically assaulted or Chris Rock telling a joke?"

lmao. Chris Rock's whole deal is pretty much being a repackaged Gilbert Gottfried. a purposely annoying voice and every bit is delivered with a sledgehammer. what's crazy is that Chris Rock got to be a lead actor in movies, because goddam does that shit get old after a few jokes. Gottfried was great as Iago, Chris Rock was great as the donkey in Shrek. but they should not be the main course of an entertainment product.

also, will smith is crazy lol. like tom cruise, he's box office gold, but the guy is shit nuts. i watched After Earth a few weeks ago out of total boredom, knowing it was probably gonna be a piece of crap. spoiler alert: a complete turd. how it 2x'd its 130 million dollar nut is beyond me. that family's wackadoo secret scientology association is also absurd, but totally on brand.

I'm a sucker for sci-fi but I assumed After Earth was very bad. But when you got to "spoiler" I was hoping Smith had a scene where he went unhinged too realistically.

        130 million dollar nut

Hollywood accounting is a hell of a thing.

that family's wackadoo secret scientology association

I love how the US has two major highly successful indigenous religions. Mormonism has a Puritanical element and encouraged polygamy to allow its founder more sexual partners. Scientology was created by a hack sci-fi writer and his intent was he could grift on it. Mormonism markets itself as a sort of trad life, trad wife, etc thing. Scientology's brand and marketing is decidedly Hollywood and show business.

If there's ever a third American religion - maybe the founder will have successfully created something that's both trad life, trad wife and Hollywood / show business.

This shit was so funny I couldn't even believe it was real when it happened. They're all actors so I just assumed they were doing some bit or whatever, and if he really had a problem with what he said he woulda addressed it privately and not on live TV but this image still geeks the shit out of me 💀

I am still in awe at his form and grace. I don't know what me slapping someone would look like, but it would not look cool.
