Yeah I know, we already know that Reddit is a shithole. But here's some mask off statements from Reddit founders.

Spez is a tech bro piece of garbage. Absolute zucc wannabe slimeball. Climbed out of the same primordial ooze as that lizard fuck. He left the company to go brain child another disruption but failed so he staged a coup because the SJWs were being mean to his people.

Critics contend that the Californian Ideology has strengthened the power of corporations over the individual and has increased social stratification, and remains distinctly Americentric. Barbrook argues that members of the digerati who adhere to the Californian Ideology, embrace a form of reactionary modernism. According to Barbrook, "American neo-liberalism seems to have successfully achieved the contradictory aims of reactionary modernism: economic progress and social immobility. Because the long-term goal of liberating everyone will never be reached, the short-term rule of the digerati can last forever."[7] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Californian_Ideology

free speech is kind of a fuck though, always exists to allow fascists and bigots a platform more than it allows dissidents to criticize

“Freedom of the press” is another of the principal slogans of “pure democracy”. And here, too, the workers know — and socialists everywhere have admitted it millions of times — that this freedom is a deception while the best printing presses and the biggest stocks of paper are appropriated by the capitalists and while capitalist rule over the press remains, a rule that is manifested throughout the world all the more strikingly, sharply, and cynically, the more democracy and the republican system are developed, as in America for example.

“The first thing to do to win real equality and genuine democracy for the working people, for the workers and peasants, is to deprive capital of the possibility of hiring writers, buying up publishing houses, and hiring newspapers. And to do that the capitalists and exploiters have to be overthrown and their resistance suppressed.

“The capitalists have always used the term ‘freedom’ to mean freedom for the rich to get richer and for the workers to starve to death.

“In capitalist usage, freedom of the press means freedom of the rich to bribe the press, freedom to use their wealth to shape and fabricate so-called public opinion.

“In this respect, too, the defenders of ‘pure democracy’ prove to be defenders of an utterly foul and venal system that gives the rich control over the mass media. They prove to be deceivers of the people who, with the aid of plausible, fine-sounding, but thoroughly false phrases, divert them from the concrete historical task of liberating the press from capitalist enslavement.

I mean unmoderated free speech will turn into a fascist, pedophilce cesspool. Just look at 4/8chan. Most minorities (be it LGBTQ+ people, POC, etc) won't feel welcome on a platform where a significant portion constantly attacks them, and boards specifically created for those communities would constantly be raided.

ChapoChat is moderated too, in part to deal with raids of fascist.

    Nonetheless, fuck reddit.

Definitely agree that there needs to be some moderation.

I bring this screenshot up because in the later years, Spez and Kn0thing would announce that Reddit IS a bastion of free speech, a complete 180 and bald faced lie.

Furthermore, the line about how reddit is essentially a digital place for political pamphlets is quite... grim I suppose.
