Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can, thank you.

Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)

Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday Patrick Lancaster - crowd-funded U.S journalist, mostly pro-Russian, works on the ground near warzones to report news and talk to locals.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Can the left make inroads with this impending crisis, or will fascism prevail?

IDK this shit is all happening so fast. It seems like the whole "socialist" upsurge in American politics from 2015-2020 has already fallen into either liberalism or sex offender registries. Brandon effectively sidelined it, and there needs to be time for something new to form in response. The big problem is that whatever remains of the left has a really hard time stating the obvious: this is all the fault of liberal neocon Russia hawks who backed Putin into a corner until he had no choice but to attack Ukraine. There are some sections of the right that can say that.

I'm predicting the US having a depression in 2025 that lasts around four to five years. Why? Just a hunch.

How the left turns out in the West is going to vary. Some countries might actually be okay while others won't. Some subdivisions will turn to leftism while others turn to fascism. I don't see the US federal government ever going to socialism and it's more likely that it'll end up with Republican dominance. Individual states might vary from neoliberals to fascists. There might be some leftists getting wins in county or city governments, but nothing much beyond that.

This will likely not affect midterms in the U.S. While inflation is a big deal, the political reality show that is oriented towards midterm voters, who skew towards the wealthy side, is already in full swing. There is no more news coverage of pricing or inflation, only trial, scandal and culture wars. We'll see if it holds, but I will bet that it is just enough to squeak the Democrats through with a majority in the Senate and few losses in the House. They will of course, see it as a win for moderate policy and double down even harder.
