        Nope! Federal loans for going to a state college. They just don't count because Reasons I guess.

            Seems I've already paid my direct loans, and my FFEL/Perkins loans aren't held by the ED. Funny how nobody bothered to explain that to my 18-year old ass when I was figuring out how to pay for college.

              Never take money from private lenders. As paradoxical and purposefully evil this system is, the fed ED is the only loan issuer you should be borrowing from.

              I once borrowed $5k from a big private bank and holy shit paying just the interest rate on that was brutal
