Memes have become a tool for corporate interests. I wonder if the Dark Brandon thing was pushed alongside student loan forgiveness in an attempt by the Dems to make themselves look cool before the midterms?
What made Dark Brandon funny for me was the idea that he was doing super cool things (like executing cops or something I don’t know) because Biden is infamously, like, not really there most of the time. It’s like he was falling asleep in the middle of a press conference and then accidentally hitting the communism button with his head on the way down to the floor. Libs have appropriated the meme now and just use it to say what they’ve always been saying: Biden is God. But in reality, Biden is fucking dogshit.
Now that I think about it, it reminds me of something a friend said: Biden supporters are the true accelerationists. Had Trump remained in office, libs could have continued to tell everyone that if we just gave them a chance, they would do better. Now we know that is not the case, and Biden’s “incompetence” or “evil” (really just his endless kowtowing to the bourgeoisie) may, who knows, bring about the revolution sooner than expected, in which case he will truly be Dark Brandon.
Not before a dark decade of bullshit- but yes, justice will eventually come.

It does make me wonder how bad their internal polling is for midterms. I've been fairly convinced that Dems will outperform expectations, but this loan forgiveness does feel like a Hail Mary after they've dismissed it for so long. Especially considering cheaper gas is helping them anyway.

Of course it's completely artificial. It's a desperate attempt to make Biden look cool, and an attempt to seize the right's "Let's go Brandon" mockery and turn it on them. Just remember that it was a journalist who deliberately lied and tried to cover for the regime, saying the crowd's chant of "Fuck Joe Biden" was actually "Let's go Brandon". Suddenly the right had a new slogan, one much more admissible in public but everyone knows what it meant. It also reminds everyone that the media are regime tools, when their job is to be on the side of the people against the government. Instead, they speak truth to the powerless.
