The whole dollars for blood thing in the US is a uniquely weird fucking thing

This country continues to find new lows day by day year by year

From what I recall when I "donated plasma", it's a dumb loophole that works around some legality regarding "selling plasma".

The dumb loophole is you "donate plasma" for free but they award you with money.

This was 2019, so I imagine it's much worse. But 2% of us exports was blood.

Why is she smiling? Why is this graphic presented to me like it's a completely normal thing?

the maoist uprising against the landlords was the largest and most comprehensive proletarian revolution in history, and led to almost totally-equal redistribution of land among the peasantry

The lib I work with who's a landlord would look at this and wonder how such a problem could be solved. He would be genuinely concerned but also he's not going to support a system that ends renting property.

the lib, extremely compromised position is rent control, keeping on the leeches out of a respect for property instead of getting rid of them. and landlords are murderous about rent controls

I used to do this every chance I got in college, the feeling was terrible and it made you so cold as they pumped your blood back in after it had been filtered. Inhumane that people have to do this to survive.

Wait, it comes back cold? That sounds awesome. I need one of these in a backpack. Can I use a cpu water cooler and an IV?

Fellas are people who need plasma products vampires? Is that all the vampires need? Are vampires that drink whole blood more or less bougie?

Ok on a more serious note, I've heard the profit margin made between the plasma donated and the pittance given is insane , is it true, if anyone happens to know, that the plasma center makes around $1800 per 880 ML of plasma?

I donated blood a few times a year for a while until they asked me to do a plasma donation, then started calling me every week until I told them to take me off the list.

Yeah. Me too it's good in a pinch but it's still super dystopian to have to do it to just barely survive still

I know they chose this pic to have a "relatable, cool" girl to get all gen z'ers to vibe with it, but I can't help but think how that sick sleeve probably cost like $2000.

Like I'm not putting it down, it is a cool fucking sleeve, but I don't know if it fits with the "I need to sell bodily fluids to pay my rent" message

I wondered if it was AI. You make a great point and the "Pay rent" should be "To pay rent" and the circular text and the unnecessary diagonal theme. Everything feels like a hodgepodge that was copy-and-pasted together.

oh, I honestly didn't think of that, but the person shows zero signs of being AI generated in my opinion. But the ad is 100% surgically cut out to appeal to 20-somethings who need extra cash
