August 30th's update is here! TLDR? Here's the summary.

August 31st's update is here! TLDR? Here's the summary.

No updates on Thursdays.

Alright, I guess it's fucking "SeventyTwoTrillion gets sick all the time" season. It isn't coronavirus again (would be super unlucky if it was, lmao) but I am getting headaches and other symptoms which are not optimal conditions for collecting articles and doing media analysis (AKA shouting at journalists).

Might be a 3-update week, we'll see if I feel any more functional tomorrow. Apologies for people who like the updates. I'll either be back tomorrow or on Monday.

No updates on Sundays. Updates will resume tomorrow, provided that the CIA doesn't point their illness gun at me again.

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can, thank you.

Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)

Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Ukraine is doing one of their classic bits and are accusing Russia of shelling safe corridors, this time the corridor through which the IAEA delegation is going to pass through.

The Ukrainians wants the commission to pass through Ukrainian-controlled territory exclusively and accuses Russia of trying to force the delegation to travel through Russian-controlled land. Why that would be important to Russia is not explained but if you dig into the cesspool of derangement that is the reply tweets you find speculations that Russia wants to brainwash the delegation with their evil propaganda as they pass through.

Speaking of derangement, Ukraine also demands that Russia should withdraw all troops from the ZNPP during the inspection and let Ukrainian personel only be present.

The IAEA delegation is a good attempt at preventing nuclear terrorism but I don't think it will be successful. If they report the truth Ukraine will piss and shit their pants and cry about evil judeo-bolchevik Russian lies, just like they did with the Amnesty report. If the delegation bends to westoid pressure and claims that Russia is shelling their own troops for no good reason Russia will not accept it and it will do nothing to put pressure on the Ukraine to stop the shellings.

The only realistic outcomes to the ZNPP situation is either a major nuclear disaster or a military resolution.

Bro you are a smart dude I look towards as an example of a media literate person, but unless this is sarcasm I missed: :jesse-wtf:

The goal is to hide not to present. They want to control what is seen. Not to control what isn’t seen. For the former fits the underlying goal of controlling perception whereas the latter is a reactive measure in the same sphere.

It’s obvious that the gain is the internationally recognized neutral party is denied the opposing perspective. Imagine the harm to the narrative if somebody nigh-universally accepted mentioned the people on the ground welcoming Russia or denouncing the hohol barbarity.
