Class, Demography, and Gay Politics in the West

We examine the economic position of gay couples and show that they are relatively advantaged compared to heterosexual ones, with this advantage being most marked for male same-sex couples. We argue that the issue of gay marriage has to be seen in the context of a general demographic crisis affecting Western capitalist countries. We look at the impact of this on profitability and growth.

This dumb motherfucker needs to stop using pseudo science to back up his reactionary views. Stop trying to use a "Marxist" analysis to show that gay people with DINK status are oppressing the straights and are bourgeois because a sample size of 900 made 10% more on average than a sample size of 1.2 million straights.

    The first one is okay (not that over 50k wasn't exploited, that's dumb, but anyone over that didn't experience the brunt of national exploitation), but the rest are fucking unhinged weirdo shit

      The second one largely seems true in my opinion. Marriage is a pretty conservative (status quo) construct and trying to expand it to more people reminds me a bit of the social democrats in the US who want everyone to have healthcare, but at the expense of the global south. It's people going "why won't you accept me as a valued member of your evil empire? I want a piece of the pie too." But I guess because the average American doesn't know anything or care about how the US really operates, that would make most political struggles in the US conservative. Maybe that's just the mood I'm in. Demanding more rights for people living in (and maintaining) the place that is actively removing rights for most of the world's population.
